| Cucumber Dip, Great on Meats Too !!! | by Rhonda Burgin | This cream cheese base dip is great on meats as well as chips or crackers. Ingredients:
- 2 packages of hard cream cheese … cheap is OK.
- 2 cucumbers.
- 2 onions.
- Celery salt, salt, and ground pepper. All ingredients and utensils. |
Peel cucumbers and onions. |
Grate cucumbers. I use the medium side of the grater. |
You have to get the water out of this mix. I use a paper towel as a strainer. Get all the water you can out of the mix. |
Add the two bars of hard cream cheese. |
Add celery salt … probably about 1 teaspoon. |
Mix. You can use a blender/food processor for this recipe since everything is fine grated. |
More celery salt and ground pepper is added, just for looks. |
Besides being a chip dip, this cucumber dip is reported as great on meats. Friends tell me they use it on hamburger, gyros and even bologna. The meat on the left is fake lamb for the gyro. It is really pork steak seasoned with Cavender’s Greek seasoning. It will fool many. Tastes great. |
The hamburger was so-so … would have rather been a regular hamburger … but the fake GYRO WAS FANTASTIC. You won’t be able to make enough of them. |
